Manufacturer Asserted

Zinc oxide

ZnO Nanoparticle /Nanopowder CAS Number : 1314-13-2
Diameter : 2 nm

Applications

This product is particularly used for cutting meat and protecting that from bacterial contamination.

Properties

It is known as a meat cutting board containing ZnO nanoparticles. Concentration of ZnO nanoparticles is 751 ppm and. It shows antibacterial activity according to INSO 11900. In nano-scale, ZnO particles produce the reactive oxygen species rather than ZnO bulk and so higher antibacterial activity is appeared in ZnO nanoparticles.

Manufacturer's Description

A cutting board is a durable board on which to place material for cutting. The kitchen cutting board is commonly used in preparing food. Kitchen cutting boards are often made of wood or plastic and come in various widths and sizes. Unlike wood, most plastic boards are non-porous, which means that bacteria cannot enter below the surface. It is still equally as important to clean the boards thoroughly after each use as bacteria can lie and grow in any imperfections on the surface. Bacteria or allergens can easily be transmitted from one part of the kitchen to another or from one food to another via knives, hands, or surfaces such as chopping boards. Nanoparticles of ZnO are being used industrially for modifications to plastics. A common feature is its antibacterial activity. The antibacterial activity of it has been demonstrated against human pathogenic bacteria, mainly E.Coli and S.aureus.
