Applications

This product is particularly used in the manufacturing of polymeric films.
Plastics Electronics Aerospace Construction industry Transportation Packaging

Properties

The introduction of nanoparticles as nanofillers in the structure of a composite can develop the interaction strength between the polymer matrix and nanometric filler, which can increase significantly the electrical, thermal, and mechanical properties. Incorporation of nanoparticles can lead to higher impact resistance associated with higher elastic modulus.

Manufacturer's Description

Plastics are used in a range of industries, including packaging, building and construction, electronics, aerospace, and transportation. Besides plastics production, plastics engineering is an important part of the industrial sector. Plastics production grows globally. The numbers include thermoplastics and polyurethanes, as well as adhesives, coatings and sealants and PP-fibers. Masterbatch (MB) is a solid or liquid additive for plastic used for coloring plastics (color masterbatch) or imparting other properties to plastics (additive masterbatch). The use of masterbatches allows the factory to keep stock of fewer grades of the polymer, and to buy cheaper natural polymer in bulk. The carrier material of the masterbatch can be based on a wax (universal carrier) or on a specific polymer, identical or compatible with the natural polymer used (polymer-specific). LDPE (Low-density polyethylene) can be used as carriers for polyolefin. LDPE is a thermoplastic made of the monomer ethylene. It was the first grade of polyethylene. Despite competition from more modern polymers, LDPE continues to be an important plastic grad. Application of nanoparticles in its structure improves significantly its mechanical properties.
