Diameter : 20-60 nm

Applications

This product as anti-stain tile is used in all buildings for covering floor and walls especially in hospitals, clinics and so on.
Construction industry

Properties

This product is an anti-stain tile containing amorphous silica nanoparticles with a size distribution of 20-60 nm. This product shows improved stain repellency. Silica nanoparticles due to high porosity and surface area act as a binder, polishing agent, coating agent, and can penetrate the surface pores and closing them. Control test indicates that after polishing the product by colloidal nanosilica, the roughness and the surface pores decrease.

High Specific Surface Area Stain Resistance

Manufacturer's Description

Porcelain tile is a very compact product, vitrified throughout and with extremely low porosity. This low porosity is an essential feature, which provides the material with excellent mechanical and chemical properties, making it frost resistant and therefore extremely serviceable for outdoor flooring and wall cladding in cold climates. It is also highly resistant to chemical substances and cleaning agents. It resists abrasion well and has a high breakage threshold, making it ideal for highly trafficked and industrial areas, in addition to being easy-to-clean and thus perfect for paving areas where hygiene is of prime importance. Despite the compact structure, the presence of surface pores with dimension in the nano- and micrometer scale makes tiles susceptible to staining and dirt penetration. Colloidal nanosilica acts as a binder, polishing agent and coating agent to fill such pores and prevent the stains and dirt from penetrating in the surface.
