Properties

These membranes have a very high specific surface, they are highly hydrophilic but insoluble in aqueous media as well as in apolar solvents (oil, toluene…) and have excellent mechanical properties: easily manipulated, high mechanical strength, high abrasion resistance, high flexibility, temperature resistance (up to 100 º C) and aqueous and aqueous / organic resistance without changing the structure of the fibres. In addition, they are readily processable at industrial scale at a low cost and they have excellent chemical properties, based on NanoMyP® patented technology, for direct covalent immobilisation of a high load of almost any type of biomolecule (enzyme, antibody, antigen ...) under mild temperature and pH conditions and short time period.

Tiss®-Metal are nonwoven nanofibre membranes doped with plain metal nanoparticles of Silver (Tiss®-Metal-Ag) or Gold (Tiss®-Metal- Au).Tiss®-Metal are based on polymeric nanofibres doped with metal nanoparticles (Ag or Au) of 20 nm diameter which are highly versatile and very good candidates for many different applications.
Tiss®-Metal are especially recommended to act aa a support for biomolecule immobilisation and purificaction as well as for SERS measurements allowing an increase on both sensitivity and reproducibility. Furthermore, our revolutionary technology has allowed the development of nonwoven nanofibre membranes doped with metal nanoparticles which can be used as biocide supports, since they have shown strong inhibition of the growth of several bacterias.
