The use of polymer-based coatings in the OCTG market pre-dates the founding of DuraSeal by several decades. Many of those early formulations still are used by coaters today with few if any modifications since the original collaboration between the coaters and the suppliers of the coatings. In contrast, technical innovation has been a critical driver in most every aspect of the improving drilling and production technologies.
