Greenerity GmbH was founded on July 1st, 2006 as SolviCore GmbH & Co. KG by its former parent companies Umicore and Solvay as a 50-50 joint venture based in Hanau, Germany. Since July 1st 2015 Toray is the owner of Greenerity GmbH, which currently employs more than 40 people in research, development, production and sales of membrane electrode assemblies (MEA) and related compounds, to be used in fuel cells (FC) and water electrolysis applications.

Within its product line, Greenerity develops and supplies products for different applications: hydrogen- and reformate- fuel cells as well as for PEM-water-electrolysis. These components for fuel cells are manufactured on specially developed or adapted pilot production lines.
