I was born on 8.5.1937. I graduated from high school and did an apprenticeship as a wholesale merchant from 1952 to 1955, with a good degree as a hardware dealer.
At age 21, I was the 1st seller in a big hardware store and had 6 salesmen and 2 apprentices under me.
Since I did not earn enough at the time, I also sold insurance. Since I was so good that the insurance asked me to stop as a seller and train for them new insurance agents.

On this occasion, in 1958, I became acquainted with sellers who sold cars in car parks. That interested me and since I was a good seller, I have tentatively started selling car polishes. It was so much fun for me to specialize in selling car polishes. These car polishes were not good on quality and in 1964 I decided to make a good polish myself.
On October 1, 1964, I made my first car polish, which was much better than what I had sold until then. This was sold in 1-liter bottles under the name "Plast car care" .
For the production I rented 2 garages, built an agitator of 50 liters (an old milk jug) myself. For wax melting I used a casserole. The garages quickly became too small and a small production hall of 60 sqm was added. Also, a larger agitator of 200 liters was purchased.
From the beginning of 1966, "Plast car care" was then bottled and sold in canisters of 1, 2.5 and 5 liters.
In autumn 1966, a consumer exhibition under the name "OSNA" took place in Osnabrück .
So I rented a stall, put in my new car and sold my car polish, with a representative who had been buying my "Plast car care" right from the start .
The success was so great that in 1967 I tested two more consumer exhibitions. Also there was sold so well that I decided to sell my car care products only on exhibitions.
My car polish was sold until 1974 under 2 names, "Plast car care" and by my self-employed representatives, under the name "Poli-set" .
From 1975, the name "Plast-car care" was changed to "Plast-Super" . The recipe was also improved and the polish was sold in red canisters of 1 liter each. "Poli-set" in the same canisters only in the color blue. Until then, the cars had Nitro- later a synthetic resin paint finish.
Slowly new paints, such as the acrylic paint, came on the market, with which later almost all cars were painted.
Since I had to change the polish, less abrasive for more products that served the paint protection. Also, for the first time I added the car care acrylic, so that the car care, with the new paints, better connected and gave better protection.
I developed the new car care so that it could be processed with moisture. This required less material for a car to care for.
I decided to fill the car care in smaller containers. I took 500 ml bottles. The bottle should turn red.
All that was missing was a good name. After much thought, talking with friends and colleagues, I remembered:"Number one" - car care A new name, a new bottle and the color red, that's it! Stand IAW
