Petroleum Insulating AerogelSilicon dioxide
SiO2 Nanoparticle /Nanopowder CAS Number : 7631-86-9Surface area of 682 m2g-1 The average pore size of 25 nm Density of 0.07 g/cm3 Increase in the contact angle of glass slide impregnated with aerogel to 150 degrees compared to 30 degrees for the control glass slide Silica aerogels are mesoporous materials. Because of porosity and nanometer pore size, silica aerogels are highly insulating materials with thermal conductivity lower than still air. The functionalized aerogel has increased hydrophobicity properties due to the high specific surface area.
This product is silica aerogel used as an ingredient for use in hydrophobic and thermal insulating materials. Aerogels are transparent foams, with high porosity, open pores and low density which have nano-scale pores. These features have led to properties such as low thermal conductivity, low sound velocity and thus function as acoustic insulation, low dielectric coefficient and high optical permittivity. This product gains hydrophobic properties due to chemical modification with an organic material.
