Properties

Nanosize particles and nanostructured sorbent because of their high surface area to volume ratio increase the desulfurization rate. It shows a higher specific surface area (48.29 m2/gr) than the conventional one (25.92 m2/gr). According to BAFS Co. standard test, it shows a sulfur pick up with an amount of 0.31 g sulfur/g abs. which is higher than the conventional one (0.27 g sulfur/g abs.)

Sulfur compounds are main contaminants for air environment and chemical process due to damage human health, water resource, catalyst, and instruments. Removing sulfur compounds is one of the key processes in fossil fuel applications. Various inorganic sorbents are used to remove H2S in such applications. Among them, ZnO desulfurization sorbent is a major one for H2S removal at moderate temperature because the thermodynamics of ZnO-H2S reaction is more favorable than other desulfurization sorbent and there is high sorption sulfur capacity. Nanoscle particles due to their specific properties increase the desulfurization efficiency.
