Manufacturer's Description

Today, transparent materials such as all kinds of eyepieces, auto glass, mirrors, glasses, screens, solar cells, transparent masks and binoculars, and cameras used in military equipment such as types of weapons are of large volumes of the optics industry. These materials need to reduce the reflection of the light in order to eliminate virtual images and increase the quality and efficiency. For this purpose, various methods have been considered, such as the use of transparent materials with the ability to pass through light or the application of anti-reflective coatings, in the manufacturing of optical equipment. Creating a layer with specified properties requires the selection of appropriate reflecting factors such as layer thickness and number of layers. The anti-reflective coatings are based on the destructive interference of the reflected light from the common air-coating and substrate-coating interfaces and in applying the anti-reflective coating, the coating refractive index is required to be approximately 1.2. Natural materials with such a low refractive index are scarce and costly to convert to a thin film. As a result, the use of nanometer coatings containing pores with specified dimensions can provide the necessary refractive index. Application of multilayer nano-coatings on the front surface of photovoltaic cells or optoelectronic devices reduces the reflection of the light and improves the performance of these devices. Such coatings, which are usually based on TiO2 or MgF2, can be applied in ways such as sol-gel or physical vapor deposition (PVD).
