Manufacturer's Description

This coating has been composed so that smooth, glass-like surfaces reduce the contact with dirt and water. The hydro- and oleophobic effect makes it difficult or impossible for dirt, such as grease- and oil-like substances, chalk and substances from atmospheric pollution, to attach. They can easily be removed by the water-resistant nanocoating without aggressive detergents (easy-to-clean effect). Through these characteristics, treated solar panels obtain an average efficiency of 8%, compared to untreated panels.

The investigation of TNO (NL) has proved that the cleaning of solar panels has a positive effect on the efficiency of a PV installation. Dust, leaves and excretions of birds can pollute your solar panels in such a way, that the efficiency of your panels reduces. Averagely, a solar panel pollutes 4.4 to 7.7% a year. What is more, the water that stays on your solar panel after a downpour reflects 20% of the sunlight.

By treating the panels with RSS SOLARtm, the lotus effect of the coating will provide for the biggest part of the dirt and water to wash off the surface, and during a downpour, the water will change into drops. This combination will mean that the benefit of your solar panel will be raised up until 8%.
