Manufacturer's Description

When a lab cultures samples for pathogen testing, it can take over 72 hours to obtain results. However, in industries where contamination can have fatal consequences, rapid pathogen detection is a necessity.

The KRAKEN can deliver results in just 30 minutes. The fully autonomous platform continuously samples any water source at a custom interval rate, ensuring contamination can be caught in real-time. Compatible with freshwater, saltwater, brackish water, and wastewater, the KRAKEN can be used for variety of applications including agriculture, aquaculture, food & beverage processing, biosurveillance, and pharmaceutics.

Once the samples are collected, the KRAKEN uses on-board PCR technology to identify the specific strains of bacteria or viruses present in the water. With multiplex capabilities, the KRAKEN device can test for up to 3 pathogens simultaneously. Quantitative results are then sent to a cloud-based portal, allowing the user to access the information on an easy-to-use dashboard.

The KRAKEN is equipped with state-of-the-art sensors to deliver accurate results without succumbing to background interference from other contaminants. It can detect the following pathogens:

E. coli
Salmonella
Legionella
Listeria
Vibrio
SARS-CoV-2
Monkeypox
crAssphage
