Silicon Nanoparticles

The method is based on the concept of obtaining nanopowders by initiating the synthesis of the target products (gases) via rapid and uniform temperature rise throughout the volume of a reactor filled with a mixture of gaseous precursors. For example, the adiabatic compression of a mixture of silane and acetylene with a buffer gas can result in an increase of the temperature above the decomposition temperatures of these reactants, leading to the synthesis of nano-silicon (Si) and it’s compounds in the solid phase.
