Craft Cadence Nanofiber Mask is the first mask in the world to combine Polygiene’s ViralOff® and Stays Fresh® technologies with a sewn in nanofiber filter that is certified to filter out 99% of particles at 0.3 microns (EN 149:2001 FFP3, equivalent to N99 rating)
The outer layer of the mask is water repellent and treated with Polygiene ViralOff®. This is certified to reduce 99% of viruses (like hepatitus, Influenza, Corona) and other bacteria.
ViralOff® treatment is a Swedish technology from Polygiene. Craft Cadence is entitled to use the ViralOff mark as we have licensed the technology. Polygiene has tested the active ingredient against Influenza A, BirdFlu, Norovirus and Corona (SARS) over the years, and in all cases, have achieved 99% levels of virus reduction. Recently, it has been tested and proven to be effective against SARS-CoV-2.
Nanofiber filters have been found to be superior to melt blown filters at retaining filtration efficiency. In a study by Ullah et al, researchers applied an ethanol solution to sterilise masks with Nanofiber and melt-blown filters. The nanofiber filter was able to retain much of its filtration efficiency at 98% even after 10 rounds of spraying cycles using an ethanol solution. By contrast, the melt-blown fabric began at a higher filtration efficacy rate of 99%, but that dropped to 62% after 10 spraying cycles.
