Osorb

Iron-Osorb removes contaminants such as oil, gas, pharmaceuticals, pesticides, and nutrients from, groundwater, stormwater runoff, and industrial water. It also improves plant growth by breaking down contaminants in soil and protects healthy soil microbes from toxicity overload.

Specialised reductive Osorb materials have been modified to both capture and break down a wide spectrum of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and other contaminantsIn a side-by-side stormwater control study, an Osorb-enhanced swale (bioretention system) that contains soil with 1% Iron-Osorb was placed next to a control swale with identical runoff conditions. Both swales reduce stormwater volume by > 95%. The Osorb swale showed no signs of nutrient leaching in comparison to the evident nutrients in the control swale’s effluent.
