Nanocomposite thermoplasticacrylic resin is a thermoplastic polymer that is used in paint productionindustries. Paint، as a heterogeneous aggregate based on a polymer (resin)، canbe considered a polymer-based composite. Nanocompositesare composites in which an inorganic filler is dispersed within a polymermatrix at a nanoscale level، thus the clay layer could be intercalated orexfoliated into the polymer to form nanoclay/polymer nanocomposites. In otherwords، the polymer is nanoscopically confined. Nanocomposites exhibit greatlyimproved mechanical properties because of the nanometer-scale dispersion of thereinforcements and the high surface to volume ratio.  Thedispersion of the layered silicate in resin matrix was characterized by X-raydiffraction. Shift of the nanoclay diffraction peak to lower ۲θ valuesindicated that polymer chains intercalated between consequent silicate layers. The results showed that the nanocomposites structure consisting of intercalatedstructure as well as partially exfoliated structure is obtained.
