This product is zinc oxide/polypropylene nanocomposite fibers which has anti-bacterial properties due to the presence of zinc oxide nanoparticles. Zinc oxide nanoparticles have significant applications in dealing with bacteria. Due to the presence of these particles in the yarn's polymeric network, the amount of nanoparticles removal from the product is very low and the product's antibacterial property is remarkably stable.Zinc oxide has inhibitory effects on both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Smaller zinc oxide particles have greater inhibitory behavior. This behavior depends on surface area and oxide concentration as well. High concentration and large specific area create stronger antibacterial behavior.
