Indication

Docetaxel is an antineoplastic agent belonging to the taxoid family. It is prepared by semi-synthesis, starting with a precursor derived from renewable needle biomass of yew plants. Docetaxel (C43H53NO14) is a white to near-white powder with a molecular weight of 861.9 kDa. In water, it is strongly lipophilic and insoluble. Taxotere is recommended to treat patients with locally advanced or metastatic breast cancer when previous chemotherapy has failed.
