Functionalized methoxy polyethylene glycol ( of mPEG-OH ) is a single-active- PEG derivatives can be used to modify proteins, peptides and other materials by carboxy ( a -COOH ) with an amine or other reactive chemical groups. PEG modification may improve the solubility and stability, reduce immunogenicity of proteins and peptides. It also inhibits non-specific binding of charged molecules in the surface modification.
