Printing Ink
InkNanoparticles can change its color and transparency by varying the applied strength of electric and magnetic fields.
ETX is a color changeable material reliant on electric field strength: production of color is made by microscopically structured surfaces in combination with photonic crystals, fine enough to interfere with visible light. Unlike existing digital color technology that utilizes three primary colors, simple electric field adjustments facilitate color changes. Full visible spectrum can be flexibly attained in a single-pixel analog format without using any color filters. Our ETX is well suited for implementing electronic skins (e-Skin); its surface color can be adjusted by varying the electrical signal. On a broader application, color tunable building exterior can be extended to the interior, including walls, floors and furnitures (e-Tile).
