Nanoksi Finland Oy

The story of Nanoks began in 2016. We set out to develop our nanotechnology solution based on nanotechnology together with universities and commercial research institutes. The development work resulted in our dirt-repellent coating service solution , around which Nanoksi Finland Oy was founded in 2017. With the method we have developed, the nanocoating is applied evenly to the surface in such a thin layer that it is not visible, but which works in the desired way. Our solution protects the indoor and outdoor surfaces of households and properties, making them wear-resistant, dirt-repellent and easy to clean. We were not content with the fact that the surfaces would only repel dirt. In addition, we wanted to develop a coating solution that also destroys viruses, bacteria, mold spores and other volatile organic compounds from surfaces. Healthcare understands the importance of good surface hygiene in the control of infectious diseases. Traditional surface disinfection only destroys pathogens until the cleaner evaporates from the surface. We wanted to develop a coating solution that would be self-disinfecting, destroying microbes from surfaces around the clock, including between cleanings. We set out to explore the potential of a technology known as light catalysis. In cooperation with the University of Tampere, we developed a plasmonic coating solution that works extremely efficiently in normal room light. The secret is the light wounds added to the titanium dioxide coating, the so-called harvesters . As a result of the cooperation, our subsidiary Plasmonics Oy was created .
